Eggs any way you like: Poached> Boiled. Fried Scrambled. Omelette with tomatoes mushrooms and cheese if you like.

There is a great book I use called Carbs and Cals and it has photographs of real food with portion sizes and it tells you how many carbs are in it. I found it really helpful

Here is the Amazon link.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Carbs-Cals-Count-Calories-Photos/dp/1908261064/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1390928428&sr=1-1&keywords=cals and carbs

Sitting on the sofa flicking through it was a real eye opener and I thought I already knew a lot about food.

Ray, there is also a Carbs & Cals app for your phone if you want. The book is great but not always handy if you're out and about ! Better than your app that says pizza is 0carb lol !

Bg after a very very healthy meal tonight is 16.2 but that's dead on two hours after my meal fingers cross it will come down to a very healthy 7 or 6 wish me luck lol.:):):):):)
Hi Ray and good morning to you :) It sounds like you really enjoyed last nights dinner! and I'm really sorry to burst your bubble but.....a reading of 16.2 two hours after, is about double what it ought to be at that time. The trick is to keep your BG as stable as possible and below about 8.5 two hours after eating. If you had root veg, ie, lots of carrots, sneaky little devils!, parsnip or a rather too generous portion of swede they will push BG up. Celeriac, cabbage, cauli, broccoli are a much safer option and won't cause such a rise. Enjoy all that reading and have a good day ;)

You are doing quite well so why spoil it with biscuits and chocolate. Concentrate on sticking to the strict diet for the time being till you get control. Then you can have a treat occasionally.

Keep believing and you will get there much quicker.

What are you drinking?

Are you snacking on anything else?

can you get out for a walk after a meal- that can help. The old 'lets walk off our lunch' has some truth in it?

You will get there if you stick at it.

My grandchildren head straight for the biscuit tin every time they visit and always kindly bring me one. Its very tempting isn't it. Gets difficult to refuse their kindness so just tell them I have just had my lunch/dinner and will save it for later.

Good start! I looked at a few of your photos too, now I'm going to need photography tips too!

Ray...I've tried your link twice and both times all I get is a page advertising pornography sites

You have to type www. first Paul.
Rays pics are family friendly ;)
