Ray,

Have you not eaten since breakfast? If not could be a liver dump similar to dawn phenomenon. I try to eat something at least every 4 hours to keep my system working and my levels don't vary very much

I agree with Madbazoo. Sometimes if you go without eating for too long your body releases glucose naturally.

Hi Raymond, I've read all your posts with interest, I to was only diagnosed around 2 weeks ago & after the poor information from the nurse & the good information on here I have tried to keep my carbs around the 110g mark, like you have found its a very steep learning curve. Today my meter arrived & I plan to give it a good test over the coming weeks. My first test at 11.40 was 4.6 very happy and as I had cut out bread & spuds rice & pasta I thought I'd give the bread a try 1st so had a ham sandwich with two slices of burgen & packet of crisps reading at 2.20 was 6.9 again quite happy & wondering if this bread will be ok, wife and son were going to chip shop tonite so thought I'd give it a go even though I knew it was wrong, opted for smokey & chips reading befor was 6.6 two hours after 11.7! Like I said I knew it was wrong but there's nothing like seeing it there before your eyes on a plus note just tested again now before bed & I'm down to 6.6, so happy I bought a meter & look forward to finding my way as you are.
Colin

Too much fruit of that type might raise your levels as well.

There was a lot of previous discussion on here about snacks that you might want to search for but unsalted nuts are OK in small portions or ryvita with some small chunks of cheese. A boiled egg or a tomato would also be OK. Small regular portions are better than large meals as your levels don't spike as high and come down quicker as well.

Hope this helps.

Been good following your Jan progress Ray. I would suggest start a new thread for Feb but don't delete this one. You can look back on it in a few months and have a bit of a giggle and also see how far you've progressed ! Up to you mate. Take care

Morning Ray!

How about starting a gardening thread separately under general chat?

And Your diet progress under Type 2? Just a thought.

February should be a good month for you. First full month with your new way of eating. I'm looking forward to seeing how you get on.

My goal is to lose 10lbs in February.

I think this thread should be kept for new people to read it can save them a lot of hassle so please don't delete it.

On the tuna side only eat about 2 small tins/week tuna is not a safe fish is actually often high in mercury due to what they eat. It also has protein but no omega 3 just as a help

And try crackerbread it has 3.8grams/slice l love it with butter leave a bit and goes chewy like crusty bread. Butter and eat straight away it is crunchy

What you been eating Ray ? That's still a little high buddy !

This thread might as well be completely deleted as none of it makes sense now ray has deleted every single one of his posts on it-just makes us all look like we're talking to ourselves! LOL

Shame really ! someone was having a pop at him yesterday for no reason so I guess he's gone ! There's some funny people here who seem to revel in trying to appear superior to others.

He was starting to make progress and understand his condition. Shame he's gone

He changed the topic of the 2nd thread to "goodbye"

I assumed that means he's gone
