Food

Crumpets are like bread. Made of flour so lots of carbohydrates. If your reading is so high they are rather bad for you

Double figures is definitely not good!
The NICE recommendations say, for type 2s, between 4 and 7 before a meal, and under 8.5 at least 90 minutes afterwards. Other experts believe anything above 7.8 post meal is not acceptable.

All carbs convert to glucose once inside the system, and the worst ones are the starchy ones. Bread, potatoes, rice, pasta, cereals and anything else made with flour. I think you need to be avoiding those crumpets in future. :(

Like you, i have found it hard to give up the bread/cake type foods, most are too high carb wise, alot of what i was surviving on had added sugar also, but look about and you will find low carb alternatives. Bread has been a mine field for me, but have found Burgen is lower carb and at the moment i have a seeded white loaf at 32g per 100g. Try and cut you carbs, and my new find, find out what foods and drinks can actually lower your BS.
