To much to say.
I had my feet examined today and it all went quite well...I have to have my left toenail removed because I have an ingrown toenail, but apart from that everything else is fine,a big worry out the way because having your feet tested also gives clues to other parts of your body like your heart pressure, they can tell tell if you have blocked arteries,or if your blood isn't flowing properly, now just waiting to have eyes tested, but for now I am going to have a nice cup of coffee with fresh cream, have a lovely day all...xox

Great news !

I've had both my big toe nails removed for the same reasons Rosemary.

Initially they did what they call a partial removal where they remove the outer edges, this didn't work so decided to have them taken off, the procedure takes around 5-10 mins and you have to keep the toe dressed for up to 6-8 weeks after, I'm pleased I had mine done so good luck with yours.

Thank you noble head, that is what I have to have...Did you feel them doing it,I am a bit scared...xox

No you don't feel them taking the nail away as the toe is given a local anaesthetic, you do feel them putting the local into the toe but after that there's no pain, after the local wears off you might get a slight throbbing feeling in the toe but nothing to uncomfortable that paracetamol won't deal with.

I've had mine removed (both at the same time last September) and don't regret it one bit. I was told to bathe my feet in a strong salt solution every night, which turned out to be the most painful bit!

I did have to have a hba1c test prior to having it done and the told me that they wouldn't do it if the result was more than 10 (in the old system), think that is about 83 in the new system.

Good luck. It is so nice to be free from pain.

I had partial and had a ring block at the ankle, had the edges done, one worked one didn't, terrible opp and I didn't go and get the other fixed again, ask your Dr, let your nail grow out past your quick and buy bigger shoes
