Forgetfulness, or what did I do with the dog?

Yes, I have been on rosuvstatin for years. Could that be it? I also have Hashimotos ...
Hypothyroidism can cause pseudo-dementia and memory problems in general if not properly treated. I'm on NDT instead of Levothyroxine, love NDT!

Statins can cause memory problems too.

Ive just started NDT and I can see the massive difference. It has been only 10 days but I'm amazed how great it feels. It took me a while to get NDT but thank you for advising me to get it instead of levothyroxine @Totto :)

Toto, I was diagnosed (when I lived abroad) with Hashimoto's, but since I have been back in the UK, no doctor I have seen is in the least interested in treating me. They all say they will deal with it once my BS are totally controlled, but from what I have read, diabetes and thyroid problems are linked, therefore surely should be treated together?

Ewilina, how do you get hold of NDT, how do you know you are getting safe NDT, and how do you know how to take it?

You have nothing at all to gain from waiting with thyroid hormones. I'll send you a pm, if that's OK?

Join Stop the thyroid madness facebook group (there is a website and book you can buy too). There is lots of advice on how to take it, what brands are available. I bought thyroid-s off amazon but you can ty to get a prescription from your gp.
Ive never felt good on levothyroxine, it was giving me really nasty side effects. I will do blood test in few weeks and see how NDT works but I feel already much better

There is link and in UK they don't even do test for Hashimoto. I was diagnosed abroad too. I can clearly see that when my thyroid is out of control my glucose levels are going crazy too. Don't wait for your gp, there is no point. I don't know why thyroid problems are so widely ignored by the doctors. My thyroid levels were bad since diagnosis with diabetes but they waited 4 years to put me on hormones. I felt rubbish but I had always thought it was because of diabetes (that's what my gp told me).
Keeping a diet with hasimoto is also very important. It will help you to slow down hasimoto attack. The diet is also great for getting sugar levels under control. Mainly gluten free, rich in protein and healthy fats, lots of fish, no diary
