Is there a global setting I can make so that I am notified of new posts on the threads I am participating in? It seems that I have to check "Notify me when a reply is posted" for every single thread that I participate in, and sometimes I forget. I'd like to make that a global setting for all my threads.

Not as far as I know. But you can click subscribe forum that might help you if you
are only interested in one or two forums.

I just look at "View My Posts" first thing when I go online; it shows which threads have recently been active, at the top of the list.

Then I check "New Posts" to see if anything else has come up to interest me.

Yep - Viv has it! View my Posts is the way to check your posts.

You can also click "Subscribe topic" at the bottom (right at the bottom, under the similar topics) which will email you any time any posts you've subscribed to have been commented on.
