I noticed that it changed some of my alert notification settings, thankfully it did not change anything in the privacy settings.

You can check your settings by going to your account page. There should be no changes there.

Been there, and changed the ones that were affected when I first noticed the unwanted notifications appearing.

The two top boxes in alert preferences were ✓ where I had them unchecked.

The uploading was an issue this evening, but has been resolved. I've been getting lots of notifications tonight for all sorts

Yes, seeing as I unchecked those two boxes when I first joined this forum three years ago.
