Found this video on LCHF diet on youtube

This is brilliant, just what I needed. Thank you. But only 4 tablespoons of cream? I'll struggle with that one! lol I like the fact that it said that breakfast is not mandatory, as I have started to eat my first meal in the morning when I feel hungry, so it's often brunch now. :) I found that forcing myself to eat breakfast when I wasn't hungry just made me want more food later.

I only eat breakfast so I can take my Metformin. Before that I only had breakfast if I felt hungry. And would normally only eat once or twice per day at the weekend. It is surprising though how many veg are starch. Seems to be if it grows below ground leave it. Only exception being peas that grow on vines.

Unfortunately my GP won't prescribe metformin for me anymore, but at least it means I can eat when I want now. :)I'm going to have my brunch in a short while. The next time I plan to eat peas is Christmas Day lol. The timing of your post couldn't have been more perfect for me as I'm trying once more to get my diet right. :)

20g of carbs per day seems very restrictive to me.

I would expect that a lot of people could manage to maintain glycemic control on more.

I prefer to monitor my blood and adjust my diet/carb intake accordingly rather than be told that I need to stay under a specific amount of carbs, especially such an extremely low amount.

I think the 20 grams for carbs is for the first two weeks to get the process going.

Thanks for clarifying.

I have only seen the still so far not the whole video, as I do not have wifi where I am at the moment.

I will make sure to watch it later.

Thanks for uploading.

Perhaps I would have been wiser to watch the whole thing first before commenting :-(

I'm doing great for more than 4 months, on less then 10 gram carbs per day, not difficult at all - surprised how easy it is. This seems to be the best way for me lose weight.

I can maintain healthy BG's on higher than 20 grams, but I'm trying this now for weight loss rather than just BG control.

I thought 30g a day a ridiculous and impossible target to begin with, the first time I got under was a 23g day, i thought it must have been a mistake as it was so easy.... And it still is very easy, LCHF rah rah rah :)

Are you sure your BG is OK with skipping breakfast? One of the things mentioned in Diane Kress's book "The Diabetes Miracle" that I'm finding is very true for me is that if you go for longer than 5 hours without eating, you will have a liver dump - she refers to the process as "self-feeding". I'm trying to get into the habit of following that kind of schedule because my liver seems to regularly take me into the 7's without eating - it's bloody annoying!
