Have you tried the 0500 number? I called yesterday and last week and got through within ten mins or so...

Are they always out? This morning it was registering 1mmol lower than what it actually was but by 10pm it was 1mmol above what it actually was

Yo @L3wisr I found mostly the Libre indicates a bit lower. If it indicates higher values then a normal measure, I found in those cases my blood sugar was getting lower. The Libre has a delay of about 10 minutes compared to finger prick test. If your blood sugar is falling fast, the Libre gets behind and might still inicate higher values because of the delay, while your actual blood sugar might have fallen already in those 10 minutes. If the Libre is indicating higher, just scan again after 10 minutes to find out if you are going down, no need for finger prick if that is indeed the case;)

Mine too - I ordered on the 9th
I've just received my starter pack today and as you're an experienced user, I thought I could ask you this. Is it correct that once the sensor is in place, I should wait 24-48 hours before I activate it? I think I read that somewhere

Some people do that but I have never bothered and my results have generally been accurate right away. Given that it's going to be on your skin for (hopefully) 14 days there is no point in adding another day or two unnecessarily (in my opinion).

Thanks Pinewood. Didn't realise that you were a Libre fan as well

I usually put mine on the day before, although my first sensor was good when I just attached it and started it up.
Too excited to wait ;)

Me too. I attached the sensor and activated it straight away. Patience isn't my middle name !!!!!!

Can't seem to get the hang of this stuff.
Backwards every day

My first sensor went on yesterday evening and was matching by blood glucose meter readings, but this morning it's reading 3mmol less than a bg reading. Any clues anyone, apart from a dodgy sensor?

Yes, it's your first sensor. This usually means that you are now experiencing the body reacting to it and your readings will probably be out for 24-28 hours. After the first one, the body gets more accustomed and after insertion it usually doesn't take too long to settle down.

Many thanks tim2000s, that's a relief. I was really looking forward to the cgm and so disappointed when it appeared to have gone haywire. I think it's a fantastic gizmo which I suspect I will be using continously. Do you by any chance know from your experience how close it can get to blood glucose tests?

June, I'm on my 8th sensor (I think) and it's been my best yet. It expires tomorrow. I've been checking it against a finger prick at least twice a day and virtually every time it's been within 0.3mmol. On the other hand I've often had sensors that read significantly lower/higher. Luck of the draw I think!

I think I'll also keep stabbing my fingers every so often, just until I can see how this 1st sensor is behaving. Hopefully I can reduce the finger pricks down from about 7 to about 2 like yourself. If it can get that close (0.3) I'll be delighted. I also understand that the cgm reading can be about 15 mins behind the blood test.

Do the starter packs need to be signed for when they are delivered? Or are they small enough to fit through a letter box? I got an email on Tuesday to say I'll be able to order one next week. I'm really hoping I can get it by next Saturday - off on holiday and would be great to have it in time to be able to take it with me!
