Hi and good day

Three days passed without medication
I decided to live this experience with constant monitoring Some may see it as an adventure

It is an experience that will not change anything But it looks good. I've noticed a drop in the level
Blood glucose fasting
30.11.17. 141mg/dl
01.12.17. 140mg/dl
02.12.17. 138mg/dl
03.12.17. 128mg/dl
04.12.17. 126mg/dl
05.12.17 092mg/dl. 1.00AM
05.12.17. 103mg/dl. 6.00AM
The levels are not fantastic but not bad
My question is whether liver stock rises without blood glucose rising ?

You may well find that your overnight glucose levels are a lot lower than these figures, it is then rising on waking - the dawn phenonemon.
My own figure change form around 85- 96 overnight to 120 - 140 with the DP

im not sure thats very wise your in the high 7s. it may be better to see your doctor but i would be unhappy cutting meds at that level. reducing doses may be a safer way. but again under supervision.

Thank you for your advice. I'm constantly watching blood glucose levels

im cutting my insulin and i alter my dose as my bloods alter. if i was taking my full does from 8 weeks back i would be constantly hypo. obviously the reaction from metformin is going to be slower. and less obvious. if your bloods creep up. dont resist re starting if it does.

its more than i would want to see but if your normally at that level its fine. i was 5.3 this morning. if im constantly 6 plus i start deciding if i need to alter and the same if im low at night.

That’s more than I would want to see as well. Hope are your sugars through the day? After food? Before bed?

Today my blood glucose is 128mg/dl

@hichamgsm whilst your current levels in the morning are a big improvement on what they used to be, they are still too high in my opinion. This of course could be a liver dump (dawn phenomenon). A better indication of your improvement might be your levels before your mid day meal and evening meal.

If mine go anywhere near 6 (108mg/dl) I am concerned. I like to be under 100mg/dl. But I have been doing this a lot longer than you have. :)

Me too. I take a small dose at anything over 106. 1/2 unit will drop me between 20-30 depending in time of day so may have a bite of something if it’s later in the day.

I should add that Metformin is more than likely a help with Dawn Phenomenon because of the way it works.

I only gave up medication when I had got my bg under good control and was considered as in remission by my doctor. Even then I carried on for some while taking metformin low dose to help keep my weight under control.

Giving it up too soon can be counter productive in my opinion.

Hello my lady
At dawn it is much less than the morning What makes me happy is the direction of blood glucose below I also want less than 98mg/dl why not
I promise I'll do it in one week
For me, I do not believe impossible

The Dawn Phenomenon isn't restricted to dawn. It can happen at any time. With me it happened about 10 minutes after getting up, a long time after dawn!

This measurement was at 10 am 21.10.17

so youve put 4lbs on and bloods have risen 15- 32mg/dl i would consider again restarting. its to soon to stop your not stable. please dont take a chance.

Thank you so much

But what will happen? I have lived twelve years without medication and it was very high

I think constant monitoring is more important than ever
I will add a note
When I started medication I did not get a good result. I got the best result when I made the decision to stay away from bread and sugar
I think nutrition ranks first the drug will not go back away

The treatment of diabetes is
10% Medication
80% diet
10% exercise
I am talking here about the T2D
This may vary from person to person

I take metformin and still get DP. Everyone is different, remember.
Listen to OP and don't just jump on numbers. Diabetes is measured in numbers but not the whole picture.
If OP starts getting stressed about bg performance that can be more detrimental than no metformin.
Give OP a chance to observe the full effect of withdrawn metformin and decide for himself.

Have you still got metformin available to start taking again if your experiment proves that your diabetes management needs it?

It could still go either way, in my experience, as long as stress is kept out of the equation.
I'll tag @PenfoldAPD as he had a dip before benefiting without metformin. I'm not sure if he will be available at mo thou.
