Fructosamine results

Messages

I’ve been having symptoms of diabetes for about a year my hba1c tests have all come back normal. I’ve seen that some people use fructosamine test for diagnosis. My fructosamine results are 258 umol/l. I’m not sure what this means can anyone help me understand this. thanks

A quick Google shows you are in the normal range according to this article:

I’ll just tag in @Bluetit1802 who I think has experience of this type of test, in case she has anything to add.

Edit to add, just noticed this is your first post, so welcome to the forum!

Thanks for the tag, but I have no experience of the Fructosamine test other than when my higher than expected HbA1c results showed I probably have long lived haemoglobin I asked for the Fructosamine test but was refused. I was told very, very few labs in the UK analyse these tests making them expensive and the logistics difficult. Instead, I was given 2 simultaneous HbA1c tests, each analysed on different types of machine.

Ah thanks for responding, I thought you’d had a fructosamine test. My error.
