Fruit

Hi @Bridie9408 As a T2 the only fruit I eat is berries and I buy packs of frozen mixed berries in the supermarket. They are great for adding to yoghurt, cream or jelly

@Bridie9408 is T1 I helieve. FRozen fruit is fine, tinned fruit tends to have a lot of added sugar, so I'd be less keen on it, though obviously you can just bolus for it. It depends on your carbohydrate regime. Just look at the packaging to see how much carb is there. Though I'm T1, I'm also moderately low carb, so I agree that frozen berries are good.

I have frozen berries occasionally these days. A bag of strawberries or raspberries will now last ages. I have a few berries with double cream or Fage greek yoghurt. As the warmer weather has finally arrived I am looking forward to the 'ice cream' this makes. A portion of cream with added undefrosted berries is quite cooling and refreshing.

Most tinned fruit comes in a sugary syrup.

if you are good at balancing your blood glucose with insulin, I would suggest you to eat frozen fruits , as there the vitamins are preserved better than in tin cans... most vitamin C is destroyed in the heating of the fruits before tin canning them

I find that fresh raspberries can last a good 3-4 days in the fridge, I buy the bigger tubs from Tesco and yeah ok a few might go a bit mushy and 'bleed' but the majority of them last very well indeed xx
