whats the best fruit to eat?
i eat alot of grapes and bananas but i,ve been told they have alot of sugar in them?

Yes, grapes and bananas are generally not a good choice and best avoided until you get a meter and test them out. Meanwhile, try berries with either cream or plain natural yogurt. (Strawberries, raspberries, blueberries.) But don't overdo them.

I like stewed rhubarb but obviously don't sweeten with sugar- I tend not to sweeten at all as I'm not keen on artificial sweeteners. Best thing is to eat and test as some can get away with more and different types of fruit than others.

I eat tomatoes, aubergine, peppers, zucchini, cucumber and such, but not the sweet fruits. I also eat berries.

oh i forgot about tomatoes being a fruit and i can eat loads off them

im the same all berries i eat. and odd half an apple here and there sad fruit is so high coz i loved peaches and cant have now :( good luck with ur choices xx

Hi ally,

If you are able to test your blood sugars then you will be able to see which fruits spike your blood sugars. It does vary between people as to which fruits they can eat without raising their blood sugars and if you include the fruit as part of a meal it will not make such a big impact on your blood sugars as when you eat fruit as a snack.

I have any fruit except bananas... Mainly conference pears, strawberries, plums, cherries, apples (in salads) peaches.. Don't get spikes at all...but as they are with my other main meals then perhaps that's why I don't see a peak, as I don't really see too many peaks, cos I have a pump as well probably...

I choose not to eat some foods other than special occasions. The veg and small fruit I eat puts me at my daily carb allowance and I'm not cutting veg for a slice of chocolate cake on a regular basis.
but there is no food or fruit you can't have, just how much and whether the carbs will fit into your daily allowance, 1/2 a banana is ~15g of carb
