Visited GP this morning following a bad night with sickness and severe headache. After various checks, was prescribed anti sickness meds and co-codomal and told to go home and rest. I explained that my BG was very well controlled (thanks to strict LCHF) and noted I'd been getting abnormally high readings for the last 24hrs (in the 9s) and asked if this was a factor.
He jumped straight into asking why i was testing and said this was totally unnecessary and advised me to cease because it is the HBA1C that is the important one, and was happy because my previous result was in non diabetic range. That was in March! I'm not due for another test till December!
All a bit frustrating, even though T2 Diabetes is at epidemic proportions its a shame some HCPs are less than supportive of patient control.
