Fungal infection effect or wound effect on BG?

By the way wound clinic was pushed back to tomor of somerow, but the wound still looks clear.

For some reason I am still running a high basal rate of about +0.5u/hr, and not running into regular hypos. So some kind of infection or something is presumably still active.

Something that can be used to treat fungal infection and wounds is honey. Best to get medical grade honey. Ask at the clinic if they think you'd benefit from it. I also second the probiotic ideas other have mentioned. Hope you are feeling back to normal soon.

Chomping down live culture plain yogurt this morning, with fresh blueberries added, and feeling good. :-)

Could be because you are inactive Spiker, if you are usually running around in your work or keeping fit then this might explain things, when your laid-up it's quite normal for insulin requirements do go up.

Ah OK cheers noblehead, that could well explain it. I'll watch out for that as my activity level resumes. I actually am getting hypos more or less whenever I do any activity, so that explains it.

No problem Spiker, fingers crossed for tomorrow that all is well and your infection free.

I just now used a generic clotrimazole (Canesten) cream and that seems to have helped. Thanks for that! I've had it for years and no doctor was ever able to diagnose it. Amazing.

glad I could help :)

Manuka honey is well known for effective treatment of most wounds.
