When putting in a new G4 sensor do you do it in advance of the current sensor expiring to allow it to “bed in”?
Is this a requirement to get accurate BG results or is it not required?

Do you mean G4 as in dexcom G4? I thought they'd mostly moved to G6 now? I'm in NZ which is moderately slow on the uptake of new technology and have had the G6 for 2 years.

So, if you mean the G6, there is nothing to stop you applying the sensor a little early (just keep the barcode on the peel off label so that you can give the dexcom the new code when you're ready to use it, but it's not a requirement at alll (as in dexcom don't tell you to do it.)

However, if you find you keep having problems with accuracy in the first 12 hours of a sensor (eg false hypos) it might be worth trying.
