Hi I'm new to this. Diagnosed Gestatiinal Diabetes 2 weeks ago and have been on slow and rapid insulin shots since 6x daily Blood is within an acceptable range and I'm watching carbs and diet managing. I was target weight before preg. Never had a huge appetite.
But.I'm so hungry in between meals! This is my 3rd pregnancy. Is there any safe relatively healthy snacks I can have between meals that don't effect glucose? Right now im using seeds and nuts begrudgingly and thanks so much for any advice.

More of a meal than a snack but... Eggs are very low carb. I find scrambled egg or omelettes filling. And you can add bacon, mushrooms, peppers etc to fill them out more. And lots of lovely cheese on top.

Everything she said

Protein n fats are a good way to fill up but just be careful with the protein some need to inject for it where as some people find it has little effect

Thank you for replies. I forgot to mention in my post that I'm vegetarian so I'll have a look at alternative proteins now and check levels afterwards. Hopefully that'll sort out the midnight hunger pangs thanks again.

Stupid question, but if you're regularly getting hungry between meals, have you tried increasing the size of your meals? If you're on insulin, you should have more flexibility about what you eat.
