Hi all, i have been a type 1 diabetic since 2007. My diabetes has been uncontrolled for a while now and im struggling to get back on track. I plan on booking an appointment to see the doc tomorrow, just wondered if anyone has any advice for me
I guess when you say your diabetes is "uncontrolled" you mean high BG levels ? A good start would be to keep a detailed diary of all BG readings, carbs eaten, insulin injected and any exercise you may do. Keep this for at least a week and you can discuss readings with your DSN. Chances are your insulin levels need adjusting or your diet needs tweaking or maybe both. Do you carb count ? Are you on a basal/bolus regime ? Sorry to ask lots of questions but if you want decent advice, we need to understand your current situation a little better. Take care, Mo
Good for you Tubzi.Just an update for anyone whos interested. I saw my gp today and got a telling off as i expected and admittedly earned! He referred me to the team there who can help me out and im going back in 10 days so im feeling more positive about everything now. Thanks for all your advice
