I'm sure it's hormones...don't worry male species reading this, I'm not going into anymore detail lol. I am just so DONE with the partner constantly...I mean CONSTANTLY eating. I have been feeling pretty wound up about various things..big things happening and all that and now with Xmas fast approaching and knowing that everyone is going to be trying to force me to eat crud I don't want to (trust me, I have had all the conversations already and it is SO boring) but this I am just struggling with!
If anyone smoked and gave up but their partner kept on chugging away...it's kinda the same...I was addicted to carbs, sugar all the "good" stuff....it's why I am here and yes I feel and apparently look fab but I miss the convenience of carbs...I am so not in a good place again with this...am losing the motivation big time...I dunno what the hell to do! x

Hypos, rude people, ignorance and grey days.
My word of advice is to try mindfulness meditation and mindful eating, so sitting at a table to eat with no distractions and to look up some meditations on youtube or join a group. Try also replacing the carby foods with healthy alternatives, so not buying them to start with. Xmas is a hard time as there's so much temptation around but it's still worth trying this now and getting into good habits, good luck ;)

it is also a bad part f the year, as almost everybody eats gigantic amount of everything right now... I would suggest you to maybe be to go somewhere else where you don´t have to watch it all the time... if you can go to the gym or for a holyday at some friend of yours that also do eat Little and buy some clothes or something else as a reward to yourself

Oh trust me..I don't buy carbs or anything (other than the few I have daily etc) and have been totally motivated up until now...it's just been creeping up on me for a few days now. It's just mega hard knowing everyone is watching me and what I eat ALL the time...I am bored of the questions, of it being a "problem" in the sense everyone panics...I'm like just give me cabbage and some meat!!! x

I have relatives coming to mine for Xmas. I told them to bring their own food and booze. I'll cook it, but they'll be the only ones eating it.

Puts the onus on them; plus I'm sure they'll be astounded about what'll be on my plate. :pompous:

Keep the faith MissMac. :)

It is such a difficult time of year.
All the little traditions and expectations that have built up on previous years. Sometimes I wonder if feasting at midwinter is built into our DNA. It certainly pre-dates Christianity. :)

Two main suggestions:
1. If you want to feast, then feast. But make it gorgeous low carb extravagances, like LC baked cheesecakes, LC mug cakes, and so on.
2. If you do succumb, then make a commitment to revisit the forum after - don't go into denial and a recurring cycle of 'just one more'. Set a date to stop, and come back here to get re-motivated.

:)

Sound like your partner is a twin to mine and yes it is very frustrating. My hubby actually has an A1c higher than mine at this point but firmly believes he can continue to do as he pleases and makes a point of it in front of me. Then to top it off he gets into and eats my stash of pepperoni and cheese because he feels I am getting the "good stuff" and he is somehow being left out even though the house is stuffed full of food that he can eat and I can't. Sending you a hug, we can do this despite it all.

It's a time for socialising too... Talk more, eat less... (Or as you would.) Lol they won't ruddy notice.

Well...the good news is I seem to have gotten up in a far better frame of mind and "go get them" attitude...probably because I have just had an epic 2 hour country walk with the pooch which always sorts me out (specially as I bought myself some new highly expensive wellies as my old ones had more holes than a pair of crocs). Thank you, as ever, for listening and replying! xx
