Ive been self funding Libre on and off this year as funds allow and generally havnt hit problems ..... until now!
I activated a new sensor Sat morning (24 hours after application) seemed to go as normal but when I tried to take readings I first got an error message saying it was unavailable and then another saying it wasn't working, to remove it and apply another
I did that left it until this afternoon then activated the second sensor. Things seemed ok until it started to give me readings in the low to mid 3’s whereas fingerprick tests were coming out in the 6’s. Then it gave me a message that the reader might not be working properly so I used the self test facility on the maintainace menu, which it passed but it is still producing blood sugar readings 50% below those produced by fingerpricks ( now been doing that for nearly 3 hours)
I expect to have an extensive “ interesting” discussion with Abbot tommorow
Edit
Slight improvement - libre now reckons Im 5.2, fingerprick reckons 7.2 which is a difference I can accept wheres long runs of 3.1 libre vs 6.4 fingerprick was not

In my experience, Abbott are extremely resistant to taking any action of a sensor until after 24hr activated, unless it is in a total failure situation. Don't be too surprised if they as you monitor it for 24 activated hours.

That would be fine if the second one settles down, but they obviously need to replace the first one - 2 failures in as many days is v annoying and rather concerning - the one before these 2 was fine but the one before that fell off after 10 days so I am getting a tad concerned about Abbot losing quality / reliability in the quest for higher production / profit

It could be you had a couple ofrom a dodgy batch. Very far from ideal, but I'm sure it can happen.

See what they say when you call them.

After a few hours of near accurate readings, the second sensor started to show me in low 3’s while finger pricks showed me in the 6’s again this morning
Thankfully Abbot have agreed to replace both sensors
