Thankyou all so very much for all your kind words. Firstly l will just say that while l agree with TorqPenderloin in reference to the way l wrote the email the reason it was simply because my thoughts were rushing through my head because l had discovered this forum and l finally had other people in my situation. People l could ask for advice and understanding and for that reason l never thought about paragraphs etc. My focal point was just getting it all typed.
I am sorry if you had difficulty reading it as that was not my intention at all.
I eagerly sat back to wait for replies to my calls for help. When l read your email l must admit it was a bit of a knockback as it was not what l was looking to receive. I was already worried about the length of it and when you replied l did feel like l had done something wrong and you were someone in charge telling me off. Particularly as l am not very computer literate and am still quite new to the wonders of the internet. You did not offer any help re what l had written just the way it was written and it did nearly scare me away.
I am finding that l am starting to enjoy this forum. It is just taking me a bit of time to get used to
"what buttons to press". But hopefully with time l will be a "pro" like the rest of you. I already feel like l am among friends.
I called my surgery yesterday and was told l would not be able to call for an apt with any doctor until next Wednesday at 10 am as every doctor is fully booked. I am sure most of you will be amazed by this but that is the way it has always been where l live. You are not allowed to phone before 10 am so you literally have to sit with the phone in your hand ready to press the call button on the stroke of 10!. Of course 1000 other people are sitting in their own homes waiting to do the same thing and of course there are not many apts.
I have called before at a few minutes after 10 and every apt has gone. It really is a sad state of affairs.
All we have is the emergency surgery in the mornings. You have to phone before 10 and it MUST be an emergency. Nothing routine or ongoing or re medication or something that can wait but an emergency! Leg hanging off or bleeding to death.
Now we are NOT permitted to know which doctor is running the emergency surgery. This is because people were phoning up ( and l admit me too) of asking which doctor it was and on being told would say "ok" or "ok l will leave it" if it was not their regular doctor or one they did not get on with.
We were therefore all advised that if it was indeed an emergency we would not care what doctor it was so we are not allowed to know. The receptionists now say they do not know.
As l have been to see the same doctor twice for my legs and been told firstly that he did not know and secondly that it might be an allergy l am keen to give another one a go. On calling yesterday l asked who would be on and true to form was told no one knew who it was. She then asked what the problem was. I ignored this and said l needed to be seen but l needed to know who it would be. Again l was asked what the problem was. Again l ignored the question and said l had seen a certain doctor twice and did not want to go and see him again if l could help it. Alltogether now,....,what's the problem?
By this time l was losing patience and said my problem was nothing to do with her and she did not need to know. She still asked the question again to which l replied that l did not have to tell a bloody receptionist my private details about my health. She said she did as she would then decide if l had to see the emergency doctor. The nurse. Or l could wait to try and book a apt next Wednesday as she did not class it as an emergency in her opinion.
Oh dear l can hear you all now!!
Wish me luck when l ring in the morning. I will look forward to reading your replies.
