Given Bolus Instead Of Basal!

@alphabeta This is true we are all different, the actual advice given by Novo Nordisk on their site is that it can last between 3 and 5 hours and at this time of night given this was taken in error it's wise to err on the side of caution, by 3am she should be ok :)

Agree!

The main issue/danger of low blood sugar is probably at the peak of action which could be 1 to 3 hours after injection of Novorapid.

Hello @4mum_ glad to hear your ok, at that time of night it best to err on the side of caution, hopefully not an experience you’ll repeat anytime soon :)

Well done on keeping it to a decent, under the circumstances, level. Most type 1's have done that at some point or another. I can guarantee you won't do that again for long time :)

Thank you. I think because id not long had the hypo I was a bit fuzzy and tired and only waiting for 10pm to do my basal for bed. Landed up going about 2am lol.

Last year, while camping, I done my basal dose at around 11pm and went to sleep. Woke up at 4am with 2 paramedics hovering over me. Apparently I had been fitting around 2.30am. My other half phoned 999 as she couldnt get sugar into me. BG was Lo and the paramedics didn't want to leave me until my BG was above 5.....that wasnt until 7am

Any ideas what happened and why you went so low ?

Missed that bit out! The only thing I can think of is I did my bolus instead of basal. Was on 18 units of Lantus at the time, so 18 units of NovoSluggish and no carbs = disaster
Came close a few weeks ago to doing the same. Am now on Fiasp and Tresiba. The pen colors were pretty much the same. Luckily I noticed I had take the Timesulin top off my Fiasp. Glad to say they have "jazzed" up the colour schem on the Fiasp now so can't(!?) make that mistake again lol
