I want to give up diet drinks as over the past 3 weeks I've been feeling a bit anxious and shaky after going out with my friends and staying away from beer at pubs and bars. I'm also staying away from Robinson's fruit juice as i've been told that it does not help and I already drink litres upon litres of water every day. It is only from 4 and 5pm onwards that I have the diet drinks. I've considered drinking watered-down spirits but whenever I have any kind of spirits, I end up sick the day after.

What about a glass or two of dry red or white wine? Only make sure it is dry, especially the white wine. Does wonders for my bg, a glass of wine or two. But staying away from beer is a good idea.

Sparkling water
Tomato juice (yum!)

Mr B goes to play snooker and asks for a cup of tea. No one blinks an eye.

Yes, Brunneria, I'm with you on this. Sparkling water - with ice and lemon. Haven't had tomato juice for many years - I might try that next time I'm out.

Black Darjeeling tea for me please. When out at pubs it is a little more difficult. I like pernod with ice but not everyones choice I know. If I don't mix it it last a long time.
