Has anyone just wanted to give up eating so there is no need to blood tests, insuln etc and of course there would be weight loss.

I am fed up of testing and injecting and carb counting and not losing weight

If I only eat a small supper I am hoping this will work

@NICNAK68 If you are Type 1, blood sugars will still rise even if you are not eating. You may get away with it for a day or two but you still need exogenic insulin to keep your brain and body working efficiently.

As Ambersilva says you must take your insulin ,eat and test otherwise you'll get ill very quick, just try reducing your portion sizes at meal times and try to avoid snacking between meals to shift any excess weight, I'm sure I've said this before NicNak but your entitled to be seen by a dietitian as part of your diabetes care plan.

Hi. You say you are carb-counting which is fine for the Bolus but have you reduced your overall carb intake as well? Having a smaller supper may well help. I guess we all have to put up with tests, injections etc and it's just our luck to have diabetes but there you go; that's life :(

Erm no....1) you will be starving your body 2) you will still need background insulin.... So this is a very dangerous idea as can lead to DKA
As loads have said before try LCHF

Sorry @NICNAK68 but it all sounds like tough titties,.there is no easy way out but look at it this way. You don't need wheelchair ramps or a nappy or a full time carer.

As we get older we can have a lot of health issues I recently got a pacemaker and I take medication to prevent stroke and heart attack. I was on 130 units per day and now I am off it with a no major carbs diet. All my stuff is tame compared to what some my age have to put up with.

Take the challenge and treat it as a game that you want to win, make your diet fun and interesting it is all for the same price.
