As we all prepare for the excitement of Christmas Day and spending quality time with our families, spare a thought for those who have suffered and lost their lives in the bin lorry crash that took place yesterday, what happened was truly awful.

I was just reading details and it was truly horrendous. You always seem to get a terrible tragedy occurring right on top of Christmas. Terribly, terribly sad.

My thoughts go out to all the families that have lost loved ones, very tragic.

My heart goes out to them too. 3 of the people who died were where I come from and lived two miles away from me. One worked in a cafe in town and it was touching to see the flowers and cards outside. Very sad time in Glasgow especially after the police helicopter crash last Xmas.

Horrific accident which has effected many. It has been front page news in England and we are all desperately sad for friends and relations dealing with the aftermath. As Bluetit1802 has said, Christmas will never be the same for them.

I am taking the kids in to see Santa near by, was meant to go to George Square to let the kids see the lights, cant bring ourselves to go in though.......

I will need to walk by this very spot on my way to work......

its just so unfair for these poor families.....:(

I thought of those families that have been affected and feel so sad for them. Even those who survived and those who witnessed it will never feel the same about Christmas again. Terrible tragedy. Can only hope that they can find something to comfort them at this time
