Hey all was just wondering if anyone else is on this regimen of meds. I’m on 60mg bd and 10 units of humulin in the evening and one metformin at the moment. Seems a lot last hba1c two weeks ago was 77. My diabetic nurse is horrible.

Sorry I can't be of help but just wanted to say that some people are in the wrong job.

Hi, the humalin and met, not the glix but I have just stopped Jardiance

It really does make the world of difference who is helping you, I stopped going to the doctors full stop due to a complete moron of a DN for years, once I went back, she had left and have been very lucky this time, I cant emphasise how different things are with the right person, if there is any way to change your person then do it, change surgery, whatever just try to see the right person.

What was your initial HbA1c number. I ask because mine was 134 and I was put on only metformin, yet you are on a further 2 drugs; however, in my view I should have been put on nothing as I had in 1 week (without really knowing what I was doing so still having too many carbs) dropped my fasting from over 20 to 16. A 20% drop in anything is massive, so why the metformin, especially as I was eating banana bread and soda bread still.

I think medical professionals are too quick to dish out the drugs. You may want to ask your health care team if 3 drugs are excessive.

I think its too much if your bg tests say its too much, if you want it to be too much you can add less fuel to the fire by lowering how much blood raising foods you put in, if you are already eating a low carb or whatever and your bgs are still very high, then I guess its not too much, its what you need?

Do you test your meals? (Before eating and 2 hours after first bite). This will tell you instantly if your food choices are suitable for you. If you can control your glucose with eating lower carb you should be able to manage on less meds. Or are you already eating low carb?

Am on a low carb diet but sugar remains in the high teens early twenties. DN is horrible but not a fan of the specialist diabetes nurse either that comes once a month and is the only one that can prescribe diabetes meds. My DN can’t do anything but moan at me when I have a check up. She full on shouted at me on Thursday. I have complained before but she brings that up when I see her. I am dreading going to see her again.

Well sounds to me like you dont have any choice, move surgery? If you are taking your meds and are eating correctly then why is she shouting at you?
