I am now on my 3rd type of blood sugar reducing tablets from the doctor, metaformin caused me issue with making me feel faint and weak. Glicazide made my blood sugar go low and another the name escapes me, gave me stonach cramps and an awful metallic taste.

I have now been given these glipipion 15mg tablets, but I haven't come across them before, as any one else had any issues with them.

I am also taking statins so I am wondering if the combinations could be causing me issues. Do you think I should ask to be refered back to the diabetes consultants rather than the doctors?

Can I ask what kind of diet you eat? There’s a lot to be gain in reducing blood sugars if you cut down carbohydrates? Also Statins are know for raising blood sugars.

Hi there,

My typical meal is low carb based, a typical breakfast would be s/egg and a coffee, lunch something like chicken with brocolli and other veg, teatime I would have something like fish with salad and some greek yoghurt.

I am extremely slim and very active as well, I go out cycling all the time. It definetly helps my bood sugar lower :)

Although I have gone from 50 to 62 at my last hba1c and my morning tests are always above 7 generally then when I do 20mins on excercise bike come down to 5.8ish
