Hi.

My glucometer (FreeStyle Optium Neo) stop reading the glucose testing strip. I dont have spare one. Its Bank Holiday weekend and Im not able to test my blood sugar. I have to test my gluco 4 times a day. What should I do.
Thx in advance for any advice

If you've ruled out things like battery, strip or dirt issues with your meter, go to Boots or another chemist and buy a cheap meter to tide you over the weekend. You can keep it as a spare if you get your Neo sorted. Or you could buy another Neo if that's easier, as you'll have more strips for it already.

Have you tried phoning the manufacturer?
Mine was replaced in a couple of days when I reported a problem.
Ok, so this doesn't get you through the weekend (for that, I'd recommend @azure advice) but if you registered your meter for the warranty, they should replace it.
It is also useful to have a spare meter but, if you do so, remember the strips have a best before date. I get around this by ensuring my backup meter uses the same strips as my main one.

@tpszefka . Is there an icon in the screen like this.... -+[ ]. or has there been recently, it appears where the time is normally.
If so you need 2 new CR2032 batteries.
Only a suggestion.
Hope you get sorted.

As has been said it may be best if can to purchase a cheap meter to tide you through the weekend. I would add that it is best to have a second back up meter in case of situations like this arising in the future.

Thx for advice. I swap batteries for brand new and is reading the gluco strips now. I have to considering to buy second back up meter

Actually it sounds as if you need backup spare batteries the most. Batteries need changing more often then meters break down.

Are you based in the UK? If so you don't have to buy one, just ring any of the meter companies up and they'll send you one out for free, just tell them that you have type 1 diabetes and test multiple times a day.
