GlucoRx Finepoint needles?

I use a new needle for every injection. They are sold as single use. Reusing a needle can bend or dull the tip, which will increase pain and is also more likely to promote lipodystrophy.

just as a counter to most of the above... I have been using GlucoRX 4mm needles for almost a year (since November 2014) and I have never ever had a problem.

Got a letter this morning from my GP telling me that my BD Micro Fine 4mm needles will be changed to GlucoRx Finepoint 4mm needles. I have always been on the BD Micro Fine needles and was quite happy with them. Has anyone else been moved to these new needles? And if so what are they like? I don't want to change to needles that aren't as good as the ones I currently have.
My doctor wrote to me wanting to change from Bd Microfine to GlucoRX finepoint I have refused

My gp changed me over to these, in all honesty they are just as good. However went to collect my stuff from boots today and the manufacturer are having supply issues and they are not available! !!!
Boots gave me 200 of the bd microfine ones instead ;)

Just been changed to this from my BD 4mm and I find them annoying to twist on and have to really force them off plus the fact if I leave a needle on with the inner guard the lid falls off as it's too big and I end up snapping the needle in my pocket. Can't wait to go back to be honest

I was switched from BD to GlucoRX about 2 years ago and have been happy with them. Yes, they are not quite as good as the BDs and you have to use a finger nail to help prise the needle off sometimes but otherwise they do the job and I use one per day.

They should be fine. And FYI I sometimes don't change the pen needle the whole time I use the pen unless I bend it putting the cap back on. A box lasts me years. Same with syringes for Lantus.

I am sick of my GP insisting on keeping me on the cheap GlucoRX needles even when I have reported they bruise and scar. They say that they have no choice as it’s the CCG that insists on the change. This in its self is incorrect as it’s only a recommendation not a compulsion. Don’t let your GP fool you if they don’t feel quite right send them back and insist on your previous branded needles. They pick the most personal sterile product to replace for a cheap low quality product that’s not fit for purpose. I would ask them to try the product them selves to see how much they hurt and scar on inception and extraction.

I was changed to this brand last year as B&D stopped making 12mm needles, I preferred B&D and every so often flirt with the idea of using 10mm if B&D still make them.

I never re-use a needle these days.

I have been changed on too these needles always use new needle they have been changing me every few months different type i try they hurt i go back and they change to original ones i have too make appointment each time too have them changed its not the gp changing then i was told by the nurse its practice pharmacist if i go back i see doctor he apologises and switches me back
