When your glucose level is 5 or lower do you still administer your insulin???

Whenever, mine drops that low I’m never sure whether I should administer it or not.
I’ve not had any guidance from the hospital. Therefore, any information/experience you can share on this will be gratefully received.

Currently, this is my routine.

Levermir - first thing in the morning (30-40units)

NovoRapid - 3 times daily (breakfast, lunch, diner) (40-60units)

Levermir - bedtime (40-60units)

Can't really comment on the issue as a T1 (who certainly would inject at under 5, but all my insulin comes from an external supply whereas T2s often overproduce), but I am deeply unhappy with your clinic that they have put you on insulin with insufficient explanation as to when it should be applied.

Can you contact them and ask?

Aside from the fact that we aren't able to recommend dosages here you need advice from T2s rather than T1s, and I suspect that many of the insulin users here are T1.
