Good morning everyone.
Now that my Libre trial is over, I need to go back to using my monitor.
Can anyone recommend one which wouldn't cause as much pain please?
I have problems with my hands and they are so sensitive despite using the correct parts of my fingers and selecting the lowest setting on my Codefree monitor.
Thank you

Hello, I use Kinetik. They have a very good website. Deliver by Royal Mail. Meter easy to use. Can buy strips etc at the same time. Would recommend. Also no pain using lancets.

Mine is by agamatrix given to me by surgery. Monitor is fine but I can’t say that the lancets are any less painful. How did you get on with the libre, mine is in post? Are there alternative sites you can use other than hands? I don’t know in those circumstances how reliable results are mind. My handbook with monitor suggested base of thumbs and back of forearms. The longer I test my fingers (tend to stick with same three on my left hand) the less sensitive they seem to be.

It's not the monitor it's the lancing device you use that causes the discomfort which is not governed by the make of your monitor I use the fastClix lancing device that originally came with my Accu-Chek Mobile they are seperately available on line and it suites me well.

Meters shouldn't be giving you pain and you can use any lancet device with any meter.
The Accu-Chec FastClix lancing device is popular for being gentler on the pricking. I bought mine from Boots and used it with multiple different meters over the years.

Hi I got one from here for free https://www.diabetes.ascensia.co.uk/products/contour-plus-blue/

Regards.

I'd definitely agree with trying a Fastclix. I've used it with a number of different brands of meters - and it was my choice after some research when getting my first meter "kit". I had a bit of a phobia regarding things being stabbed into my finger after once working somewhere that required regular blood tests, and they used what looked like a blooming great scalpel...:eek:
