Glucose readings suddenly jumped

Sorry whats 16:8 fasting?
Iv been on gliclazide now for 6 years never had problems with hypo or hyper
Thank you all for taking the time to answer and trying to help me its much appreciated

I suggest you can keep your last meal carb very low by having plenty of salad with whole grain with added lean meat
For someone who is Obviously aware of low carb and ignoring calories I’m surprised about the whole grain and lean suggestions. Pretty darn hard to be very low carb and eat any sort of grain regardless of type or colour. And low carb means increasing healthy real fats, not focusing on lean low fat meats.

Now im confused lol low carb but eat whole grain? Wont eating fats push my cholesterol up?
And what is 16:8 fasting?

Wholegrains are not low carb. They might be a little slower (and last longer?) but have pretty similar carbs.

Fats don’t put cholesterol up, carbs do. Lots of recent science supports this. Most of us in here that have done LCHF find all our “good” readings improve and “bad” ones fall and ratios all improve. See 156985/https://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/cholesterol-and-statins.

Fasting for 16 hrs and eating all your meals and food within an 8hr window. It allows insulin levels to fall between eating windows. Insulin blocks fat burning encourages fat storage and adds to insulin resistance (the underlying problem for type 2).
