Glucose tracker

Hiya, does anyone use a glucose tracker if yes. Which one. I've tried a few but not really liking any I've tried
Hi

I believe @Rachox does an excellent run down of some popular brands.

Curious what you disliked.

I think there can't be too much difference, they all work on the same principle ?

Just to note the strips are the costs to check for.

I personally use the home health glucose naavi.

Requires a smaller sample of blood then my previous one.
I rarely get any errors
& Cost of strips are economical.

Use of strips early days is quite high.
But as you find certain meals don't spike You, some testing can be reduced.

Hi @Sloanranger when you say ‘glucose tracker’ do you mean a blood sugar meter or an app to record your readings. I can help with either or both.

Yes I'm hoping once I find out my level what pushes my sugars and what is acceptable, I can reduce testing. Its quite pricey. As I'm newly diagnosed I'm concerned about everything I eat....I'm probably over doing the testing Thank You

Oops sorry for not being more specific. I meant a app to track readings. Not a meter. I'm very much a app sort of girl lol
I use 2 apps! MySugr is very popular, it has the advantage of once it has enough data it will estimate your HbA1c, it’s not accurate as an absolute number but it is useful to observe trends. There’s a silly Sugar Monster that is obviously aimed at kids but you can turn off his annoying squeal! The other one I use is called Glucose Companion which has all sorts of stats and graphs.
Oh just realised I’m actually using a third one now too as I’ve started using the Freestyle Libre which comes with it’s own app!

I use the android apps that aare availble for both my Countour and Abbott meters which are put out my the two manufacturers on the Playstore.

Ah yes, you did say tracker .. :banghead:
My bad for not reading properly.

Agree with @Rachox

I did use mysugr app.

Once loaded up with enough data it wasn't to far out on my official HBA1c blood tests .

I stopped using it, not sure how but at some point I must have subscribed and it was just an additional cost I was trying to work out of my budget at the time.

Unsure if subscription was needed, (aka payment) but it was accurate to a certain degree while I used it .

Good luck finding a serviceable one for your needs.

I've used MySugr and also found it's estimated A1c matched very closely to my actual HbA1c (MySugr 40.9, HbA1c 41).
I also use the Carb Manager app to track my diet, but it also allows you to track other stats, including glucose, ketones, weight etc.
I will probably cancel my MySugr subscription and just record via the Carb Manager app.

Oh and just to add, I use the free versions of all the apps I mentioned.

Subscription isn’t needed if you just use basic blood sugar records, exercise, carbs eaten and I like the hba1c prediction as a guide
