Hello everyone!
I have had diabetes 2 type already 15 years. Now I have started to follow diet of Low carbon hydrate food. I have to still use also medical as "Glucontrol and Metformin. During the day glucose value is between 98 - 122 ml/dl.

I do not eat anything after 18.00, but in the morning at 07.00 glucose value is high as 180 - 190 ml/dl.

Have I use also in night time to avoid the rise of glucose value? Normally is ordered to eat medicine before eating. Have you any similar experience?

What you are experiencing sounds like "dawn phenomenon." Your liver dumps glucose into your bloodstream around dawn to help you have enough energy to wake up and get out of bed. As you get your blood sugar under control, that is usually the last thing to fall back in the normal ranges.

It might be helpful to eat a snack at night. Part of the dawn phenomenon is connected to how long it has been since you ate - the liver also dumps glucose when it believes you are starving. (One of the reasons for the recommendations that people with diabetes snack frequently.) Thirteen hours is a long time without food - some people have good luck eating a small quantity of nuts as a bedtime snack.

As for taking Metformin with food - taking it with food may help it be better absorbed but - more important - many people find it is easier on their GI system if they take it with food.

Yes,stick with the Low Carb food and your blood sugar readings will improve plus you should start to lose some weight, best of luck
