Goaded into eating carbo-laden food.

I take it as the opportunity to educate people on the nonsense of low fat/high carb mantra and how much of the food be see in the supermarkets is junk. It usually shuts them up!

I too have suffered from inappropriate peer pressure. Only this evening I was goaded into drinking alco-laden drink by the other priests here at the Spikey Island maximum security parochial rest home.

Aaww go on with you, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on .......................... ;)

The first sign of defence is to attack, and it sounds like your colleagues are trying to shift their' bad diets' onto you and by trying to coax you into their food choices as it makes tem feel less guilty about what they are eating.. Either just ignore their comments or ask them not to comment on your food and you wont comment on theirs. Good luck and I hope you have a good day.:)

Best way is to bore them into submission! Tell them that you are eating this because it has this nutrient and that mineral etc and you don't eat this because it causes your blood sugar to go to this level and this can cause this symptom etc etc and on and on Don't let them get a world in edgeways and they won't butt in again

But has anyone else suffered patronising behaviour when you decline certain food?

Not much, and the most recent was around 3 years ago at a birthday celebration. After the buffet the cake was passed around, I declines as I'm not a cake lover and don't particularly have a sweet tooth, however the person next to me asked why I didn't just have a slice and inject more insulin, so after explaining why he accepted my reasoning, then it was left at that, what was more surprising was that the person who said it was a type 2 themselves, and Yes they had a slice.

Never give in to peer pressure when it comes to food or drink, after all if your a non-smoker your not going to suddenly light-up when a smoker offers you a cigarette.

What is more interesting is that they were an idiot.
