Hi, I was diagnosed back at the end of January. I have lost 1 stone in weight, my glucose levels were going down and the weight was coming off, until recently that is.
I follow a lower carb diet, but I'm not on metformin. My blood glucose levels are now in the high 6's sometimes in the 7's after a meal whereas before they were in the 5's and lower 6's. Also my weight loss has practically slowed to nothing, although I have cut back on my food even more, and to be honest, I really don't think I can cut it back any further. I also exercise twice a day for 30 minutes - I can't do more as I suffer from arthritis, but I need to lose perhaps another 10 lbs.
I do have hypothyroidism, so I'm wondering if that may be part of the problem, although I've just had it tested and Dr says it fine. Could it be that my diabetes is getting worse in such a short time? I have done all I can to keep it within levels, and now I'm really struggling.
Any thoughts or advice would be welcome, thanks.
