hi thankyou, I am type 2 and on 4xmetformin a day only for diab, I was 3.1 to 3.5 all day at work upto a couple of weeks ago but never had any ill effects whatsoever, I do get very dizzy when ive been bending down to the point I was bent down reading labels in the supermarket the other day and was so dizzy I actually thought I was going to hit the floor but that happens all the time regardless of bg or if ive just eaten or not so as long as I remember not to stay low too long its fine, ive checked my bp straight after this dizziness and its fine so I don't know what that is and now bgs are up it hasn't gone away, sorry if this is boring....
yesterday I ate natural fage yogurt with berries for brekkie then an atkins bar for lunch then steak asparagus and mushrooms for dinner at 6pm followed by my normal jelly and double cream my bg by 8 was 7.1 them each hour it rose until 9.1 by midnight, I went to work until lunchtime then cut the grass in the garden cut down bushes etc, walked the dog a couple of miles at 8pm just when I think it should be going down its going up, I was really looking forward to hba1c on the 24th for my pat on the back from the doc but now its going to be terrible
sorry for moaning im just gutted
You are 'not' moaning at all
This heat can and does affect our BG levels .
With some it can go upwards with others it can go downwards
Many people young/old can be affected with other conditions in the heat .
Keeling over and hurting themselves .
[last week in my Tesco two people collapsed - one a diabetic , the other an epileptic ]
Paramedic's told me they see it 'more' often in the hot/warmer weather .
As hard as we may try - it can just do its own thing
I know - it certainly makes it harder to fathom and deal with things!
Sure your not cooking anything up ?
A bug? hayfever? infection? or even stress can impact on your BG's too .
Worrying about things can impact as a form of stress .
Sometimes even though you are eating all that usually keeps your BG levels lowered .
It isn't enough when other things 'still' impact and will raise them up .
Despite your very best efforts .
It is gutting - I understand ...
I would suggest if by tomorrow you are still feeling very dizzy with raised BG's ?
Pop along to see your own GP and explain/discuss with them .
Mention the heat too if you wish or feel it is a factor .
Your GP should take this into account with you .
Let us know how things go too .
Anna.
