Hi, I'm new to this forum and would really appreciate some insight. I've always had blood sugar issues since childhood but more to do with feeling very hypo when I'm hungry. I never looked into it as I have been used to feeling that way.
However, I recently bought a glucometer after reading Dr. Datis Kharrazian's book. I took a reading after eating 1 boiled plantain with no fat added, for breakfast. I reached 14.4 in one hour and 6.9 in two hours. Then I got down to 3.7 at 3 hours. It looks like I have reactive hypoglycemia but my one hour number was so high
I have booked an appointment for a test. At first the doc ordered a fasting glucose test but I told him it wouldn't show anything abnormal as I've been testing my fasting AM glucose and I'm either normal or a little hypo. He then ordered the test where I drink the Lucozade, forget the name. Thing is they test at 2 hours and I was reading online that recent research shows that the 1 hour mark is where the most accurate diagnosis for diabetes is made. Could he misdiagnose me? I'm so confused!
Thank you so much for your help.
p.s. my mum is T2
