Type II High BP
Taking Amilodipine Ramipril and Bendro
Insulin Novorapid and Levemir

Having Hysteroscopy next week as day surgery, but worried about sliding scale.
Last visit was on sliding scale for 3 days got no rest and was nervous wreck.

Worried that stay will be longer than overnight if diabetes and Bp does not behave.
Any advice

No advice for procedure re insulin but surely if you are on basal insulin you dont really need a sliding scale? It should keep you steady unless they feel the stress or adrenaline in the anaesthetic might impact on bg?

If need to be on it, then you will prob just need to trust them, If you are still on it whilst conscious though then my advice would be to check your own bg as and when you need to and ask to get off it as soon as you can

Had a sliding scale when I had my C section...due to fasting and "incase ofs". Wasn't thrilled and didn't think it was necessary, but it was OK. Like was said above, once you are "with it" test you own BG (don't wait for them as christmas may beat them!) and then ask to be taken off it.

Hope it goes well..best of luck!
