for the last few days my bs levels have been lower than normal. I have also had 5 hypos this week, mostly in the evenings or through the night. Not doing anything different than normal or taking new medication so unsure why the sudden change. Had lots to eat tonight and didn't inject just to see what would happen and I didn't go above 7.4. Had a bit of toast before going to bed but can feel myself going low again. Can anyone shed some light on why this is happening?

Hi, welcome (back) to the forums. I just looked at your previous posts and see that you first joined 5 years ago as a T2. YOur ID is now showing as a T1. Is this right, and are you on insulin? If it's a recent move to insulin, you could still be in the honeymoon period, where your body still produces (variable) amounts of insulin.

Hi, yeh I was mis diagnosed in 2015. Confirmed as type1 in 2016 so I've been taking insulin for 4 years now with no problems until this week. Thats me up now as I've dropped to 2.5 after eating crisps, a pastry and a piece of toast without injecting for any of it. Very confused as to whats happening!

Sounds like you may need less insulin for some reason.... No chance your pregnant I suppose? (Hormones can do weird things to insulin requirements). Time to check your basal rates I'd suggest. These can and do change.

Were they absolutely sure you are T1 (as in antibody tests)? There's always MODY, which I know nothing about except it's a bit weird....

Has your insulin sensitivity increased recently due to weight loss or increased exercise ?. I'm a T2 so cant comment on insulin

That sounds like reactive hypoglycemia. Happens when phase 1 insulin response is weak but there is still insulin production. Unusual for someone who has been T1 for 5 years, but it happens with LADA. When carbo is consumed, too much new insulin is made and causes a hypo later on.
