hi i keep going low and having to eat when i am realy realy realy not hungry and it kind of makes me upset. i dont get why it happens because i am on a minimal dose of 0.5 3 times a day and 1 at night and i eat plenty of carbs can someone lease explain why this is happening to me. :bag::bag::bag:

Newly diagnosed diabetic??
Could be the honeymoon period - your pancreas could still be pumping a small bit of insulin into you. What basal insulin are you on and what dosage??

If you're on insulin then the only reason it can be is the insulin....

you may need to stop the insulin, like try taking the basal away.....I assume that's the 1 unit....

what levels of low are you seeing off your meter...

lows are 2.8 - 3.8 and can happen an hour after eating 30g carb to 0.5 novarapid.. is the basal the night time levermir?

have been told its the honeymoon period if basal is night time levermir then 1 unit before bed, but still usually have to have something before bed, hospital wont stop any of injections to see what happens although im on lowest dose possible.

Its hard when you are newly diagnosed because of the honeymoon effect.......but ultimately it is the insulin that is responsible for the lows......

the basal is the Levemir, yeah, so you could try removing that and see what happens......the only other option is to find something that you can stomach when the lows come......have you tried sugary juice, something like that which is quick acting and easily consumed...?

just make sure you keep testing so you have all the facts for your team to help..

Hi Glitter, I think you are only 10 years old aren't you?, please make sure you discuss any changes to your insulin with your parents and diabetes team. I recall you being quite newly diagnosed as well? x
