Poor William - you are in the wars lately, aren't you? That does look sore. Sending big hugs xxxGood Evening Folks.
I think I need to take out some sort of Insurance! I am a liability!!
I don't put the bedroom light on when I go to bed, because I am accused of being Noisy?
Well, I was this morning at 1.30am as I hit my Ankle Bone on the leg of the Scandinavian Pine Bed - and did I "curse"!!!!!
Within minutes my foot began to swell and hurt like crazy, there was no way I could go to bed, and reached for the Liquid Morphine.
R insisted we go to A & E and we did. We were there from 11am till 2.30pm. Had my Ankle/Foot X-Rayed and told it was not fractured, so just got it heavily strapped up with elasticated bandage. And they offered me for the pain Ibuprofen = as if that is going to work on me.. (I've got liquid Morphine to knock me out).
Just to keep the foot elevated and keep wriggling my toes, moving my foot in circular motions and was sent on my way.
Git to my appointment with Practise Diabetic Nurse and she suggested I increase my Insulin = not lightly, as I will put on weight. D.N is going to have a chat with my GP and she will ring me tomorrow if they (she and GP) come up with any ideas.
This is my foot = ankle bone normally is visible.I wondered if I have Cellulitis? The D.N even thought this?

Lol you're the same as Alex and me, we've always loved the snowSnow! I love it. Snowmen with carrot noses. I cannot wait to get back from grocery shopping. Pls god don't let me be shattered. 9yr old needs me today.
I'll supervise
It had better not be permanent. I'd have no chance of exercising anything off. Exercise has been a huge part of my life to date. I resigned myself to swimming as a compromise. Spring will show some light. Physio must help somehow. I cannot see nhs pay for something that makes no difference.I think that's the hardest part, isn't it? But if you try and look at it as a temporary blip rather than the way life's going to be for the future, it makes it a little easier to handle. Even if it IS long-term or permanent - and you don't know that at this stage - the only thing you have to deal with is today. Big hugs xxx
You go, girl!It had better not be permanent. I'd have no chance of exercising anything off. Exercise has been a huge part of my life to date. I resigned myself to swimming as a compromise. I will pay for a private x-ray if it gets silly. Some people see my weight and nothing else. I refuse to be written off due to obesity.
Obesity can be resolved if not written off.
Obesity has never stopped me doing anything in the past. I won't let that change now.
Too much text books getting it wrong and not accounting for the human willingness to make a difference. I'm only in my 40s. I won't be written off yet! lol If at all.
I haven't actually met Vicky myself, but I couldn't agree more, William!Good Afternoon Folks.
Just an update, went to bed at 11.30pm last night (for me that's early) and had a dose of Morphine and I slept like a 'baby'! There's more swelling come out on my foot - my toes look like mini chipolatas!! Have attached picture to compare.
And might I just say that I have met @ickihun - Vicky and You are a bubbly, talkative personality (just like myself) and if/should people see your 'weight' and not You? Then you are better off without them.
I haven't actually met Vicky myself, but I couldn't agree more, William!
And I hope your foot feels better soon.
Hugs xx
Yes, the TTs are reluctant to let it go, too!Thank you guys! It means a lot.
How are things now the tinsel has come down @debrasue? It was sad in our house to stop Christmas festivities. 3yr old is still singing jungle bells. lol
It could be the weather Vicky, mum's arthritis is really bad when it's coldNut allergy..... me?
I need to buy anti-histamine. I've woke with puffy eyes, throat and itchy nose.
Too many nuts.
Swollen arthritic fingers. I'll have to wait til monday now. Shopping and bills have left me brassic.
@debrasue I'm wondering if some of my swellings are from nuts?
I don't know much about nut allergies, Vicky, but I'd be surprised if the nuts were aggravating your arthritis, as the omega-3s in nuts - particularly walnuts, pecans and almonds - are generally believed to help this condition. I tend to agree with Barbara, as cold, changeable weather conditions certainly make mine worse. Sending hugs xxNut allergy..... me?

Ignore my pm hun.evening Folks.
Attended Hospital Rheumatology this afternoon and had Bone Scans done on my Hands and Feet. And was 'un-officially' told that I do have Osteoarthritis, and when Rheumatologist receives Scan report I will receive follow up appointment.
The person doing the Bone Scan says my swollen ankle could well be Gout? = Hmmm!
Attended my GP care centre this afternoon and my GP does not think it is Gout! However, a blood test for Uric Acid would prove it, but have got to wait until the swelling has gone. And to go back in a weeks time for him to check on my ankle and arrange blood test to check uric acid?
GP gave me an anti-inflammatory injection in the buttock and prescribed me Naproxen (NSAID) for my bone aches. The Forusemide (Diuretic) Tablet and Aspirin has been stopped from today.
@ickihun - Vicky, how's your day been?
@debrasue - Sorry to read you are suffering with Arthritis, sending you big HUGS and hope you start to feel 'pain free' soon.William x
he he he I know you're not 65. Me neither but I was taken off naproxen because of heart problem.@ickihun
Naproxen is an Anti-Inflammatory and wants to see if it does my ankle pain any good. Because the Butec Patch is not easing the pain in my ankle. (Though still wearing the patch)
Cannot take Naproxen and Aspirin at same time as they both thin the blood. Also being on Aspirin and Diuretics could possibly cause Gout....
But, he says it is not Gout in my foot!
He is going to check my Bloods for Uric Acid when the swelling has gone In my foot.
I'm not over 65 years!!!!
William x
