GOOD AFTERNOON/EVENING.

I'm sitting her, staring at my computer screen and trying not to nod off! I'm supposed to be working again today - I have quite a big proofreading job for a high-end automotive manufacturer this weekend - but I think I need to take a break for a bit, because I'm struggling to concentrate and stay awake. :(
It's a bit warmer here today (it never got above 0 degrees yesterday, although we had some lovely sunshine. The hoar frost all around sparkling in the sunlight was absolutely beautiful) but it's grey and overcast again.
A she-fox took up residence outside my bedroom window last night and screamed on and off for about 40 minutes. It's an eerie sound which always puts the hairs up on the back of my neck at first, although I do love to hear it.
After over half an hour of it at around 2.30 am, though, I'd had enough and opened the window to suggest - none too politely - that she might prefer to find another location for her love songs! She did, indeed, bugg*r off after that. That's probably why I'm so tired today...
Roast chicken for dinner tonight - all prepped and ready to go.
Have a lovely afternoon peeps!

Looks like I won't be having angiogram til infection has cleared up! :( :( :(
Echocardiogram still on for thursday thou.
Have a good weekend. ;)

Well the lovely swollen abdomen is very bad tonight and skin is being stretched to soreness. Painful even. I'm still treating virus with paracetamol and infection with antibiotics. I haven't taken codeine today to rest my liver (ish).
So far no chest pain. Phew! :) :) :)

Good Evening Folks.
Broadband off when we got in at 5pm today, R rang up and a diagnostic was done, Broadband came back on about 45 minutes ago.
Went to see R's GP for his Blood Test Results. His HBA1C is 43 = his GP is not concerned, whereas I told him he is in the Pre-diabetic range and he loves eating Cakes, Pastry and Biscuits - he will have to stop all that now and he pulled a face!
My HBA1C was 53 when first diagnosed some 17 years ago and I weighed 10 stone, but never took any notice for the first year..... Had I? = well I might not be Diabetic today???

Evening William , it's really not that bad giving up cakes and biscuits and pastries. The way I did it was to go around shops picking them up and reading the labels and seeing what was really in them. Then asking myself do I really want them / do I really need them , NO . So back on the shelf they went .

I had cake, pastries and chocolate over Christmas as I was close to burn out. It has given me the impedance to carry on. After reaching a second decade with diabetes you have grown the knowledge of what affects your sugars and what doesn't. Mostly without a meter. As my chap says. A calculated risk. I needed a holiday from stamping on high bgs. I'd been on holiday to blackpool was scared to enjoy for high bgs. Dn sent me to see someone as I was fanatical to my detriment.
So here I am with a higher hba1c but hapoy, content and able to carry on stamping on my high bgs. Lovely!
Oh and had a great Christmas to boot! Memories of happy joyous time not griping about bgs. A winner for me.
Now back to business!
I lost 2lb last week so I'm looking forward to my weigh-in on friday!
Sometimes you have to lose a few men to win the war!!!

Hi William, my little brother John had the same sort of reaction when he was told he was pre diabetic. He is the chocoholic of the family! It's Michael's birthday tomorrow and this time I won't be able to make a chocolate cake for the whole family, I'm making an individual cake just for Michael. John has been having a hard time adjusting his diet, he has aspergers and finds a change in routine very stressful. I've managed to persuade him that carbs are just as bad as sugary foods but we're having an interesting time finding substitutes!

Good Afternoon Folks :),
Just waiting for my Driver/Chauffeur and off Shopping. Don't mind the Home Bargains shop for toiletries etc or even the Waitrose = at least get a Free Coffee, but pay for toasted T-Cake, it's the weekly food shopping I don't enjoy...... I see things that I would like (to try) because I have been really good with my diet blood/sugars so far, and All I get is: No, No No can't have that!!!! R sticks to what is on the shopping list.

Hi Ron @eldergarth
Dare I ask what you two are upto this evening? I'm watching less and less of tv lately. I'd rather chat with friends.
Toddler is fighting sleep so I'll let him play a little bit longer.

Did they give you a date of delivery? I hope your ready for bursting bicepts after a while. Slow and steady hun, or you'll ache all over.
Told us two weeks but like everything with Ron it always takes longer. He's phoned them but all he got was answer machine. It will be three weeks this coming Friday. I'm raring to go. Might get rid of my bat wings .lol
