Diagnosed in September last year I have been working on controlling my diabetes with diet and exercise. Last HbA1c in Dec down from 85 to 46. Average before meals is now 6.3 and after 7.9 giving an overall average of 6.8. Oddly exercise seems to send my BG up rather than down and it stays there for several hours. My first reading each day is always about 6.5 to 8.0. It never gets below 5.0 before a meal. Are these results good enough? Should I be trying to get it lower? If so any suggestions on how, especially the first reading of the day? All advice greatly appreciated. I have learnt so much here.
