Good Morning

Morning all bad night with the pain in left side of hip still there this morning struggling to get about but got loads to do before sale of house will just have to push through it as usual .
Have a good day all
Hope today is good for you, we woke up in our own bed after a couple of days away visiting "mums". Always nice being home. You've got the fun of making a new home after the move. An optimistic time so, even with all your horrible problems, try and enjoy the good bits of moving.:joyful:

Take care

Morning from a dark morning in Sunderland.
Sending hugs to people struggling today. I have a mountain to climb but it's really a mole hill in pain.
I have responsibilities today which are going to cause me huge pain but have to be done. I'm just going to take my time.
Easier on my own as no toddler or fast walking partner, who still doesn't get the discomfort and pain.
I'm starting my pain relief early as I need plenty in my system to do my jobs. Practice nurse then gp then jobs.
Awake before others for some peace. Little one broke the brand new mobile dvd player yesterday so was put in the doghouse. Ha ha I had to listen to a ranting ill partner who cannot cope with anything bad happening. Even little things are a big deal to him and all blown out of proportion. Humf!
Some of my friends are struggling but I'm not the best person for them at the moment as fragile myself. I need to keep upbeat in this seasonal dark morning and evenings. I never thought I got SAD but maybe I do.
Be careful of vit d deficiency this time of year, get out for plenty. Show your skin in the mid-day sun, if possible.
Have a lovely day. Vicky ;)

Good morning one and all. I hope your day is full of positive things and that you find a baby kitten in your jacket pocket. Go look, you never know!

You are crazy! I haven't any pockets after the nurse sewed them up after finding melted brown stuff in them. Argh!!!! Ha ha (only joking)

This could be interpreted so many ways..:wacky:

I woke up with a melted chocolate stuck to my back last week. I have no idea how it got there, honest governor!

It's probably still there..

Thanks for that but the dreaded pain monkey has struck again this morning I guess from over doing it again .
Hopefully after a few courses of pain killers it may ease by end of day as having a rest day today .

There's the old adage of look after number one, sounds selfish, but think of the advice given on aeroplanes. "If you are flying with young children and infants fix your oxygen mask first before attending to them" I guess this means you're no use to anyone else unless you're as good as you can be. You can't help your friends when you need to focus on yourself. They'll understand.

SAD sucks.

Thanks for the vit D nudge.

I've got far too much skin to show to the mid-day sun, maybe this time next year if I've shrunk a bit!!!:grumpy::bigtears:

I'm looking after a friend's guinnea pigs at the moment, so found them outside my back door this morning. Does this count\?:wacky:

Turn round, take a piccie, let's see:snaphappy:

Yes! I have guinea pigs too..squeak!
Yup, their squeak is adorable.. They're part of my old next door neighbour's family, they moved in the summer and I miss their squeaking, nice to have them back . If only for a week.

Charley our little jack russell cross is fascinated by them. She (yes, a female Charley - I was in the bath when I named her. Never ask a woman a sensible question when she's in the bath and had one glass of chardonnay too many!) sits looking at the hutch for hours. Whining. Wants to play with them. Never chased or attacked. Just sniffed and whinned. Strange dog...:wacky:

Fits in with us just fine.:)

Morning all, it looks like being a family day today. Michael's flat is being inspected by our housing officer today so I'm spending the morning there to help out and this afternoon I'm going to a jobs fair with A. Phew! I'll be glad to put my feet up tonight

21/10 - Good Morning from a dull and overcast York. Enjoy your day and hope everyone is well :).

What a morning! GP ruled out spondolitis, I felt like kissing him. He seems to think insulin is adding my weight. I agree. Well its not helping, that's for sure.
I guess I do need bariatric surgery, after all. It cannot make matters any worse. I'm slowly dropping protein but no weight loss. Nothing helps me lose weight. I'll keep an eye on weight but I'm not prepared to risk damage for weight loss. (Stopping insulin, to lose weight). My best mate is nearly blind. She's slim but cannot see much.

Good morning. I had an excellent gp session yesterday. Older gp and he set my mind at rest regarding spondylosis. No spondylosis like mum and sister, oh and 2 uncles.
I left feeling very upbeat. He believes the insulin treatment has caused my weight gain, hence pressure on my soine and pelvis.
Soooooo after my holiday and Christmas day I've decided to do a stricked low carb and low protein (for me) diet. Reducing thyroxine on gp instruction only. I will ask gp for blood test 6 weeks after going low carb (30g).
This will be my last attempt and if no weight loss I will be booking myself up for bariatric surgery.
In the mean while I am having 3 small meals which are far less protein filled and water and coffee only.
I know I eat too much protein. It contributes to raising bgs towards the end of the day. Even on 30g carbs. I guess the insulin resistance output is higher as day progresses.
I've always known I have to outwit this diabetes with diet and stress-free exercise.
Oh and the routine liver block. Which has to be now classed as a meal rather than a nibble.
What I really need is to be in bed by 9pm with toddler, on getting rid of his afternoon nap.
Action point after my holiday without kids. Get toddler out of afternoon naps. He is so intense thou, I've welcomed the breather his afternoon nap gives me (peace).

Very positive post, Vicky - I'm so glad the new GP has been helpful and that you've got your mojo back. Sounds like a great plan - I'm all for avoiding the bariatric surgery wherever possible, as I know of quite a few people who have had it done and three of them are now pretty much back where they started. (One of them was liquidising Mars bars!) I'm not at all convinced that it's the magic, one-size-fits-all solution that it's cracked up to be, and once you've had it done, if it doesn't work for you, where do you go from there?
Big hugs xxx

Glad to hear you and your GP agree Vicky @ickihun, it makes such a difference when you and your HCP aren't locking horns at every meeting. One of the GPs at mum's surgery is particularly obstructive and she avoids him whenever possible!
