Hey guys,
Managing T2 on a largely low-carb diet. I am struggling to find things to replace reduce protein as the source of my macronutrient. The only foods that I am currently eating that are higher in good fats and low in carbs:
1. Avocados
2. Cheeses (double brie is my favourite)
3. Tree nuts/seeds - almonds, walnuts, cashews, Chia and pumpkin seeds (mix of fats and protein)
4. High protein, high fat, low carb yoghurts
5. ????????
For carbs, I go with generous helpings of brocolli, brussel sprouts, leafy greens, bell peppers (all the non-starchy vegs). For protein, it's all varieties but I eat Chicken and Fish most often, with the occasional beef/pork.
Trying to cut back on protein as it puts extra strain on the kidneys. I don't have any kidney issues and I'd prefer to keep it that way.
Any other high good fat foods I could be missing out?
