Hi all,
Thanks for letting me post. Just for reference I am 22, F. Went to the GP regarding some concerns about thyroid issues (family history... displaying symptoms of underactive thyroid) however, when I spoke about my symptoms dr was more concerned about diabetes, for reference my symptoms have been: some weight gain, fatigue, irritability/mood swings, general feeling of unwellness, thirst & peeing. The thirst was the one that I think has lead her to be concerned about diabetes. In the room she did a finger prick test which came back within range, I hadn't eaten for around 90 mins/2 hours beforehand, and it was unplanned. I am pretty clueless, and have bloods booked in. I want the finger prick to be a reassuring thing, that I am less likely to have it, but my Dr was still keen to get the blood test booked, as she is worried about potential diabetes.
Has anyone ever been diagnosed even though their initial test came back in range? I also haven't lost weight, but the main symptom has been thirst!
Thanks in advance!
