Gout and glucose levels

Does gout increase blood glucose levels.mine have been elevated over the last week while suffering with gout ( I think that's what it is, certainly ticks all the boxes) seeing the doctor this week for my diabetes review so can check then.

Watch it very carefully - if the redness and/or swelling spreads it might be cellulitis, at which point it becomes an urgent matter indeed.

I think it's all about inflammation. Gout causes inflammation, which causes the raised blood sugar.

Gout is potentially caused by metabolic malfunction of which diabetes is another symptom. Eating sugar or lots of fructose is supposed to increase the uric acid. Not in everyone I hasten to add.
