Guardian Connect Vs. Dexcom G5 (No Pump)

Ive started using it now and pretty pleased with it. I havent found it as accurate as you just yet, but its pretty good. Having it on my iphone continuously compared to having to scan the Libre sensor is fantastic. The sensor/transmitter is pretty small and hardly notice its on.

The app is pretty good and clear, but I agree with you about the alerts, it would be good to be able to customise these and also have vibrate only. It feels like it's using a bit of battery power but isnt a major problem as im always charging it anyway.

One issue i'm having is that ive set it up in mmol/l, but when i swipe to the left for notifications, it show the reading in mg, which is useless to me. This seems like a really basic error on their part. I phoned them to see how i could change it and they didnt know and havent got back to me yet.

I also didnt put the 2nd overlay plaster on the transmitter, i just put a large piece of rock tape over the whole thing. I did this with my libre sensor and felt it really held it in place better. I also use skin coloured tape, which just helps hide it a little, not that anyone will really see it. I'm hoping this will not only help keep it in place securely, but also make it easier to remove the transmitter and extend it to 10 days.

Had a fault on sensor last night...
Spent 31/4 hrs trying to get hold of Medtronic (US).
Had reps text and email address so contacted him.
The sensor dangly bit when I removed it was only 1/4 there!!

Rep dealt with my complaint today as I was at hospital... (not diabetes).

They acting very quickly to get resolved now.

Swipe what to left to get Mg? Everything I get is mmol????

OMG, what happened? Did you get it out?

Swipe left - i mean when you press the home button, you can the swipe left (or maybe its right!) to see all your notifications without opening your phone. There Ive added Guardian and it shows me my levels, but its in mg.

Ooh, I've never swiped left! I always just open the app.. I'll check this!!

Rep reckoned I'm not the first to find the short length and assures me it isnt in me!

I waited over 3 hours to get hold of US sun but was lucky to have number and email for rep.
As at hosp on Monday the rep and diabetes team took over sorting everything out for me.. I thought Medtronic had sent me another 5 but tgey had only sent me 1 replacement in a box.. my fault for not checking though.

They apparently have a shoetage of sensors! So, waiting to find out when I will get my next 5.

I have learnt now though.. never waste time endlessly at weekends trying to get hold of US!!

Did they say what had happened to the wire bit? If it isnt in you and wasnt there when you took it out - where can it be??

Said a fault sometime in manufacturing....
Got email today saying shortage worldwide with sensors??
