Had my 3 monthly diabetic checkup at my local hospital this afternoon.
Result:
HbA1c very good at 6.0 :D
looked at my blood sugar tests scince Aug 22 - averaged out at 6.0 - Good control :D
Stop taking gluclazide (was 40mg every am) - now diabetic drug free.
Not a bad reversal from 3x18units novorapid and 18units lantus when I was diagnosed April 2008
All its taken is a bit of low carb dietary changes.

That is very good news indeed for you ...well done! :D

Now the downside is that your once totally free prescriptions will now have to be paid for :( ... who ever made these stupid regulations has probably never had to face choosing what items take preference on the script form.

Update:
came off gliclazide - no change in diet / exercise, Blood sugars have risen to high 6.7-7.0 maintaining at this level (Mon pm) so going back on glic until can see medics again! :( Who would hae thought that 40 mg would have caused this bg rise!
